good tunes

i've been searching for kids music that doesn't drive me crazy. the handy dandy public library has happily loaned us some real winners!

They Might Be Giants made a delightful cd, Here Come the 1,2,3's

• our favorite song is "High Five" - who wouldn't love the line, "slap me five! keep it cool, old school"?!!

The Barenaked Ladies (or as zoom calls them, the barenaked girls), Snacktime, with lines like,

• i like my big sister, but i don't wanna wear her coat. it may be black, it may fit perfect, but everyone knows its a girls coat.
• what happened to nine? seven ate nine
• my favorite snack is pa-corn
• no man, i don't have a cold, i just suffer from allergies
• i'm spicy! i'm hot! whoa! (from the food party song)

with melodys that keep me happy, and lyrics that entertain us all, these were great finds! i'm getting a little tired of snacktime, because zoom wants to hear that song specifically over-and-over. i think he's trying to memorize it.
what fun music do you like to listen to with your kids?? we are always looking for more - and it doesn't have to be specific to children, but we prefer no inappropriate content or language
