we just received this invitation in the mail today. our very creative friend probably actually made these envelopes - i haven't asked her, but you bet i will! it is beautiful! the mailing label is stitched onto the envelope! i love this kind of thing and find it very inspiring. the art as well as the spontaneity of the event, simply to celebrate the change of a season.she is also starting a new business creating and selling organic baby clothes. the website is coming soon. i can't wait to see the stuff, knowing it will be completely unique.
i love this blog and continue to find it very stimulating to that crafty side of me that seems to have been put on hold since the arrival of zoom.
i did pick up knitting again, and am making some really precious baby socks out of this fabulous angora i found. not only is it difficult to find wool socks for tiny babies, i can't think of a better use for this, the softest yarn i have worked with!
and i do have some fabric for napkins, and have borrowed my mil's sewing machine. i will get to those too! hopefully before the babe arrives!
i have read a couple fun books lately that offer a great selection of fairly easy to make gifts and things. one is Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol. fun fun fun! another is Simple Gifts to Stitch by Jocelyn Worrall. wow. i need to do a crafty ladies night soon!
i used to enjoy scrapbooks, but unless i have a good four hour chunk (what is that like?) it just isn't worth it to me. unless i had my dream of a craft room, which will be realized some day. a place where i can leave an unfinished project out on the table and come back to it in a day or two. or just pop in and work on it for an hour.
stuff i want to make (or finish making):
- wool diaper covers - now for the next babe
- finish the knitted hoodie i started...ummm, 5 years ago!
- cloth napkins
- place mats
- curtains for our bedroom
- baby book for zoom - all ready to just scrapbook in
- repair numerous pants for hubby and zoom
- repair fuzzy bunz diapers whose elastic is stretched out
- a stash of birthday cards for the next year or so
- family christmas gifts. actually, i know exactly what i am making, but certainly cannot post details until after because i think they are reading this??
- dinner for tonight...guess i better get on that!

I'm hoping to do cloth napkins before the babe is born, too...we need 'em, badly. Only, crap! I've only got a few weeks left. I was about to start on them last night, but couldn't find my sewing bag. Drat...foiled again.
How big are you going to make yours and what kind of fabric are you going to use?
