zoom has a growth. he has never used a pacifier, except as a toy, until just a few weeks ago. and now he seems addicted to it.but, it did come just in time for a weekend of severe head cold. he is really soothed by it and i can now see the attraction for parents. i can't have him latched 24/7
so this is how we've been spending the past few days....horizontal, in pjs, my energizer bunny sans his batteries.
and we've been watching the only video zoom is allowed to watch. an excellent pick from the library. he requests it several times a day, and is actually learning some new signs.
it's kind of nice to have a snuggle bunny instead.

He's using a pacifier?? That is wild. What the...? LOL -- that really makes me laugh. He looks cute with it in.
Speaking of, aside from emergency situations or using it as a calming device when he is over-tired and when we are in public, Diego is trained to know that his pacifier is for "night-night" only. He will even take it out and put it under a pillow on our bed when he wakes up. Isn't that cute?
I used to get a little weirded out by parents who had toddlers with pacifiers at, say, the grocery store -- thinking that they were totally permissive and what on earth were they doing in public with that thing in? Well, now that I have a little experience, I understand. The grocery store is one of the main places outside naptime that we actually depend on the pacifier as a calming device. It is like trying to settle down Frankenstein without it. Sheesh. I've become what I always rolled my internal eyes at.
Figures. Haven't we talked about things to this effect before? What experience does to change an attitude or opinion. LOL
J. looks so cute with his pacifier in, especially with what a novelty it is! Wow...
i used it for that very pacification reason just last night during a meeting where he would not stop talking. obviously he doesn't have a "quiet voice", but the nuk worked like a charm.
i am still weired out by the six year old who i saw RIDING A BIKE, WITH FRIENDS, and a pacifier stuck in his mouth. i can't believe he hasn't been made fun into quitting.
and i do appreciating the grace that having a little experience gives us!
